Where to begin? Well, what is art really, but imagination and a little ambition? Can any artist really call themselves an artist without imagination and ambition? I think not. Without a drive to complete the work, the work becomes meaningless. I call myself an artist because I have the drive to create something beautiful. Art means life, in my eyes. Is mother nature herself not an artist? Sunsets could never be painted without mother nature's inspiration. Is father time not an artist? When you look at your grandmother's smile, doesn't it look beautiful to you? Art is not always in a museum.
I work with traditional media and digital media, depending on what it is I would like to make. Very often I scan my images to color them on a computer. I prefer pencil and paper to a tablet. On a computer, you can easily edit your art, and it takes the work out of being a good artist. On paper, you can only erase so many times. The easy route isn't always the best.
